Management Accountant

We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our client's team on a six-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the team, ensuring the production of accurate and timely management accounts and maintaining the integrity of all balance sheet accounting for the Managed division. This role is crucial for achieving audit compliance and delivering excellent service to all stakeholders.
Day to Day of the role:- Perform month-end accounting processes, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of financial information.
- Provide effective narrative for financial information, enabling correct interpretation and understanding of risks and opportunities by divisional finance teams.
- Prepare meaningful balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all balances are supported and differences within control accounts are actioned promptly.
- Deliver high-quality reports and commentary to provide insights for strategic and operational decision-making.
- Offer excellent customer service to internal customers, providing high-quality financial information to decision-makers.
- Respond timely to queries related to month-end processes.
- Collaborate with teams across the business to build strong relationships and ensure effective financial reporting support.
- Maintain financial records and systems in accordance with GAAP principles and ensure robust internal controls are in place.
- Support the external audit process and respond to related queries to facilitate a smooth and accurate audit.
- Suggest improvements to enhance systems and processes for reconciliations.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of source data and the structure of financial information from core systems.
- Understand the impact of operational changes on financial procedures and systems to ensure correct accounting treatment.
- Assist with operational or accounting projects and carry out ad-hoc analysis to support decision-making.

- Strong customer service ethos and ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
- Qualified by experience, newly qualified or close to completing a relevant professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA).
- Proficiency in finance and ERP software, with strong knowledge of reporting tools such as Excel and PowerPoint (Power BI is advantageous).
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workload.
- Experience in a large company environment.
- Knowledge of the retail and hospitality industry is beneficial.
