Role Overview This pivotal role has been created to support a strategic infrastructure initiative driven by a local authority. The successful candidate will act as the cornerstone of project delivery, ensuring seamless on-site management and rigorous contract compliance. As a key member of the project team, you will oversee contractor performance and work closely with stakeholders to achieve project milestones efficiently, safely, and within scope. Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of highways and civils schemes on-site, ensuring adherence to project timelines and standards. Administer NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including issuing and managing contractual correspondence such as Compensation Events, Early Warnings, and Programmes. Provide robust commercial oversight, reviewing contractor submissions and challenging proposals to optimise project value. Coordinate and oversee utility, design, and construction activities, ensuring alignment and smooth progression. Manage stakeholder engagement, reporting on progress, risks, and issues to maintain transparency and strong relationships. Monitor project performance against programme, budget, and quality targets, implementing corrective actions as required. Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance throughout all project phases.Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience managing highways or major civil engineering projects in a client-side or local authority context. Strong knowledge and practical experience with NEC3/NEC4 contract management and administration. Demonstrable ability to lead large teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively. Hands-on experience with on-site project delivery, including utilities and civils works. Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a focus on delivering high standards of safety and quality.Desirable Attributes Quantity Surveying or commercial background with construction contract knowledge. Experience working within local authority projects or public sector infrastructure programmes.
