We are looking for an experienced Prepress Operator to join the team at SGS&Co. The ideal candidate will know a gap from a trap and have a proven track record of creating press ready digital files for the dry-offset print process.

Working on globally renowned brands, you will be responsible for accurately creating press ready artwork that adheres to brand, legal and design guidelines.


Key Responsibilities:


• Ensure that all work is completed to client guidelines and quality standards following process and procedures.

• Ensure artwork interpretation is achievable within print production constraints.

• Prepare accurate artworks from approved design and brief.

• Ensure artwork meets printer specifications.

• Use Adobe CS and Esko applications to perform all artwork and prepress requirements.

• Roll-out artwork across complicated multilingual packs from translation documents.

• Develop and update master artworks and guideline documentation.

• Ability to mentor new & junior staff and provide training to less experienced team members.

• Ensure Studio Manager and Project Manager are kept informed of the progress of jobs and any impact there is to the production plan.

• To ensure all quality control procedures are adhered to and all relevant documents are completed.

• Take ownership of your own KPIs to achieve quality standards.


Skills and Abilities:


• Experienced and skilled in Adobe CS applications.

• Experience using Esko workflows and applications.

• Good understanding of digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps, etc.).

• Must have the ability to continue to learn and use new graphics software on an ongoing basis.

• Proven experience of artwork creation and prepress to a high standard.

• Proven experience creating press ready artwork files for dry-offset beverage cans or similar.

• Effective problem-solving skills.

• Ability to understand and execute creative direction and instructions.

• Excellent communication skills required for daily interaction with team members and management.

• Experience with technical image retouch would be advantageous.
