Major Retailer require an Interim Commercial Lawyer for 6-9 months:

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Manage legal risk by:
  • providing commercial legal advice in a pragmatic and simple manner; reviewing, drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts (primarily with suppliers); supporting the Managing Counsel in advising on project strategy on an end to end basis; supporting the management of the company's Trade Mark and Domain Name portfolio; assessing and advising upon the GDPR implications and requirements of a wide range of proposed services and projects; contributing to continuous improvement/efficiency work including drafting standard template terms and conditions and providing associated training to the business; case management of commercial litigation including deciding tactics, active participation in mediations and case conferences and attendance in court as necessary advising on a wide range of issues including commercial disputes, structure of relationships, and advertising and marketing activities;
  • Build relationships with the business to enable efficient involvement of legal in commercial processes;
  • Manage external counsel including tendering work, agreeing and monitoring budgets, and overseeing work; Contributes sound internal Governance by advising on delegated authorities and contributing to Board reports, internal audit and other reports.

Excellent salary - Hybrid role (2 days office - 3 days remote)
