Optimum Recruitment Group are currently working as a retained partner for a leading service sector client in their search for a Finance Director. Our client is a c£500m t/o growth business situated in North Yorkshire.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead and provide strategic direction to the business, formulating and implementing clear and effective strategic, commercial, operational and business strategies and plans which drive long-term sustainable value and growth. You will also ensure the business is efficient, effective, quality conscious and profitable and you will drive collaboration within the wider group of companies.

Your key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Acting as a strategic and commercial advisor to the board, providing insights and recommendations to drive business growth.
  • Overseeing, managing and delivering leadership across all financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Overseeing, managing and delivering leadership for other functional areas including HR, Payroll, Legal and Compliance.
  • Ultimate responsibility for the governance, risk, business continuity, statutory and legal reporting requirements.
  • Staff leadership and management of the above functions.
  • Supporting the company through any future significant events.

You must be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • 10+ years of progressive, professional financial management experience.
  • Preferably with PLC experience and working in a Group environment.
  • The ability to join a fast changing, rapidly growing organisation in a technical, increasingly automated industry.
  • High ability to clearly (and simply) articulate explanations, analysis, recommendations and decisions, both in narrative reporting and verbally (and to a range of audiences).
  • A "technical" brain and highly IT literate.
  • Executive leadership experience to produce strategy in conjunction with a wider management team.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Detailed knowledge of international and UK accounting standards.
  • Experience of implementing business processes & IT systems.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong influencing and relationship building skills.
