We’re taking part in a trial of the 4-Day Working Week, meaning that you could be working one day less a week (or equivalent).4DWW will be rolled out within our school, when we have a full complement of staff, and within the next year – so there’s never been a more exciting time to join us #teamOFGJob Title: Teaching AssistantLocation: Meadowcroft School, Wakefield, WF1 4ADSalary:     £25,115.37 per annum (not pro rata)Hours:     42.5 hours per week, Monday to FridayContract: Permanent | Term Time OnlyStart:       January 2026UK applicants only – this role does not offer sponsorshipAs part of our continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join our close-knit team at Meadowcroft School.About the roleYou will provide hands-on, personalised support to students with complex learning needs, helping to deliver lessons, implement individual plans, and create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the class teacher/tutor to ensure the delivery of high-quality education for all studentsAssist with the implementation of relevant education policies and proceduresProvide individual or group support to enable students to access the curriculum as independently as possiblePromote students’ physical, educational, and moral development in line with company policiesEnsure equipment and resources are used, stored, and maintained efficiently, reporting any maintenance issuesSupport classroom organisation, resources, student groupings, and displays to create a stimulating learning environment suitable for students with autism spectrum disorderAssist in writing, updating, implementing, and evaluating student documentation, including Behaviour Support Profiles (BSP), Individual Risk Assessments, Individual Education Plans, Communication Profiles, and Pastoral Support PlansCollaborate with the class teacher/tutor to plan activities and ensure student safety on and off-site in line with risk assessmentsProduce teaching aids and resources as requested by the class teacher/tutorContribute positively as a member of the school’s multi-professional team, fostering good working relationships with colleaguesAbout YouExperience supporting students with special educational needs, particularly those with autism spectrum disorderStrong communication, teamwork, and organisational skillsPatience, adaptability, and a proactive approachCommitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenAbout UsMeadowcroft is an independent specialist day school for pupils aged from 5 to 19, catering for pupils with a wide range of needs across 4 sites in Wakefield.
