This London-based role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Audit & Accounts Manager to oversee a varied portfolio across multiple sectors. Working closely with senior partners and directors, you will provide high-quality audit and advisory services to a diverse client base, focusing on mid-market clients with multiple accounts managed annually. This role emphasises career progression, offering structured mentorship and the chance to build your skills in client relationship management, training junior staff, and overseeing complex multi-account portfolios.
With responsibility for a substantial portfolio valued at £500k+ in recurring fees, the role centres on audit work while allowing for wider business advisory exposure. The position is ideal for candidates with a demonstrated ability to handle a range of sectors and manage multiple client accounts each year.
Key duties
- Oversee all aspects of audit and accounts management, including:
- Planning, budgeting, and time management
- Delegation and supervision of team members
- Review and finalisation of files for partner review, including corporation tax calculations
- Submission of required documentation to HMRC and Companies House
- Provide ongoing feedback and mentorship to junior staff, supporting their professional growth
- Manage and supervise trainees, ensuring their development and engagement
- Participate in business development activities, including client events and relationship building
- Identify and pursue opportunities for account growth within existing client relationships, collaborating with partners
- Contribute to process improvements and assist with billing and administrative duties
The ideal candidate will hold a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, ICAS etc) with extensive experience in managing both client portfolios and teams. Applicants should demonstrate a proven background in multi-sector audits, especially within the mid-market space, and the capability to manage multiple client accounts annually. Strong knowledge of UK auditing standards, corporate tax, and accounting frameworks is essential. Candidates should be commercially minded, adaptable, and committed to high-quality client service and continuous professional growth.
This role offers a highly flexible work structure with core hours from 10 am to 3 pm and a hybrid arrangement of 2–3 days working from home each week.
