Job Title: Controls Engineer
Location: Glascoed, South Wales
Salary: £52,665 (inclusive of 25% shift allowance)
What you'll be doing:
- Operation & management of a high-volume processing facility
- Monitoring and diagnosis of plant and equipment ensuring the process runs safely, efficiently and in compliance with company policy & regulatory standards
- Observing and operating control panels including Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, CCTV and other monitoring systems
- Tracking real-time data, alarms and trends to detect anomalies or deviation from routine operations
- Conducting initial diagnosis of fault conditions, and escalating to relevant support functions, resetting out of sequence faults, re-homing of robots & Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV')
- Coordinating and overseeing the integration of support personnel and facilities, coordinating maintenance, systems and production support to operation of the facility
- Maintaining detailed logs of system activities, maintenance actions and incidents, managing Permit to Work (PTW) in area of responsibility & coordinating management of change
- Executing emergency shutdown procedures if required, and assisting in coordinating emergency response protocol
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Science / Engineering degree, HNC / HND or equivalent; or time served apprenticeship in the process industry
- Awareness and exposure to PLC and HMI Systems
Desirable:
- Experience in operations & monitoring systems in a control room environment
- Proficiency and understanding of PLC systems, SCADA or Siemens TIA portal
- Understanding of robotics/automation within multiple operational environments
- Sound understanding of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Process Control Plans, (PCP), and work instructions
