Job Title Graduate Engineer (Systems Engineering)Job Location Bristol OR Portchester UKJob ID 30379About this opportunity and L3Harris UKFrom 11 UK sites our team of nearly 1000 people delivers unique capabilities across space air land sea and cyber for military security and commercial customers across the UK and worldwide.L3Harris in Bristol is our headquarters for our Maritime UK businesses which provides warship automation systems through control and simulation solutions that are in service on Albion Class Landing Platform Docks and Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers. More systems are being developed and delivered for Type 26 and Type 31 frigates. We have additional Maritime UK sites across Burgess Hill Barrow-In-Furness and Portchester. Together we are powering the Royal Navys adoption of autonomous surface vehicle technology as well as delivering autonomous capability to UK ports harbours and offshore energy service providers. Each functional rotation requires significant contribution towards real world applications.Throughout you receive suitable training opportunities to cultivate a wide range of competencies to shape you into a well-rounded engineer. You will have a dedicated mentor many networking opportunities and support with Professional membership. Some understanding of systems concepts context boundaries interfaces system hierarchy and the principles of system partitioning to help manage complexitySome understanding of the characteristics of good quality requirements management methods and toolsBroad knowledge of Systems Design methodologiesAwareness of Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA)Excellent planning communication and co-ordination skillsExcellent problem-solving skillsImportant to knowDue to the nature of our work many our roles require a UK nationality and the ability to obtain a security clearance.
