You will work on board trains as part of a friendly and professional team, helping customers enjoy a smooth and safe journey.You will report to the Area Revenue Protection Manager and be supported throughout your training and development.What's in It for You?Salary: Training: £24,512 FTE (£14,008 pro rata for 20 hrs/week). After 6 months: £28,218 FTE (£16,138 pro rata for 20 hrs/week).Working Pattern: Shifts including travelling between locationsComprehensive Training: You will receive full training on ticketing systems, penalty fares, customer service, and safety proceduresExcellent Benefits: Free rail travel, pension, healthcare plan, retail discounts, and moreWhat You Will DoCheck tickets and provide guidance to passengersDeliver exceptional customer service in line with GWR standardsOperate ticketing and retail systems confidentlyApply penalty fares when appropriate, maintaining professionalism at all timesAccurately record details and complete reportsEnsure safety and security procedures are followed on boardWhat We Are Looking For (Minimum Criteria)Experience of working within a regulated industry or following guidelinesExperience working as part of a teamExperience in front line customer serviceNumeracy and literacy skills appropriate to the roleKnowledge of GWR ticketing products, conditions of sale, railway timetables and fares (or willingness to learn)Exceptional people and communication skillsAble to deliver a world class customer experience, particularly in confrontational situationsAble to make appropriate decisions within the boundaries of authority and responsibilityDetail conscious and capable of accurately recording informationQualifications / Certifications:No formal qualifications required - full training is provided.What to ExpectYou will be required to travel between locations as part of your roleA thorough training programme will set you up for success, including on board practical experienceYou may be asked to complete assessments to demonstrate competence in customer service and ticketing proceduresOur Commitment to InclusionWe all belong at GWR.
