We are currently recruiting for a Sterile Services Technician vacancy. WORKING PATTERN 12 weeks training the first few weeks you will work on Monday-Friday at 9:00-17:00.Thereafter training will continue during your regular shift hours which will be Monday-Friday 10am-6pm STCWHAT YOU WILL DO Following a highly regulated end to end sterilization/decontamination process on surgical instruments that have been used in operations in local NHS and private hospitals to ensure they can be used again safely for the next patient. Ensuring the effective preparation of sterile consumables (dressings linen surgical instruments and equipment) by the process of decontamination inspection assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.Rigorously checking washing laying up and packing sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards. Safely operating and monitoring machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors ultrasonic and sterilisers) effectively.Ensuring that repairs and missing instruments or equipment are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).Ensuring that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trusts appointed person.WHATS IN IT FOR YOU An annual salary of 24465 plus a 5% performance bonus and generous shift allowances if you work overtime/unsociable hoursFull structured and comprehensive training Ongoing education leading to industry-recognised qualificationsDefined career path when fully operational A diverse and people-centric culture 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidaysAccess to a Level 2 Healthcare Science Assistant Apprenticeship This is a 12-15 month fully funded programme studying good scientific practice for the Healthcare profession It is universally applicable outside of STERIS Completed on the job you are given 20% of your working hours to study towards the qualification.
