Sales Manager

Working with the Senior Sales Manager you will be responsible for both proactive and reactive new business generation for the Museum’s extensive and impressive Conference Centre. Selling to both direct clients and agencies, you will promote the venue for conferences, meetings, events, exhibitions, dinners and more – utilising the Museum’s unique selling points to engage and delight the customer.
You will be allocated specific business sectors and agencies for proactive development and will process incoming enquiries as directed by the Senior Sales Manager. Together with the Senior Sales manager, you will deliver the sales strategy for conferencing through targeted activity and work to build long term and profitable client relationships. You will prospect for new business, conduct sales appointments, attend industry exhibitions and organise FAM trips to secure business for the Conference Centre.
This is a collaborative, sales-focused role and involves all aspects of business generation up until the point of contract, where clients are handed over to our internal bookings team. This role calls for a self-motivated, experienced, proven industry professional with exceptional sales skills, an in-depth knowledge of the Conferencing industry and confidence working with a prestigious client base.
Current clients include automotive companies, large PLCs, national charities and international brands.
Please note this role is predominantly office based with some requirement to attend off-site client meetings, exhibitions and networking events. Access to a pool car will be provided where appropriate.
