Interim CIO for Medical Device Portfolio Company

Contract Type: Interim, Full-Time (First 3-4 Months), Part-Time (50-75% thereafter)

We are looking for an Interim Chief Information Officer (CIO) for a medical device portfolio company that is in the process of acquiring a manufacturing facility. With minimal existing IT infrastructure, this role will be critical in building and implementing the necessary systems to support the acquisition and ongoing operations.


Role Overview:

The Interim CIO will lead the design, implementation, and management of critical IT systems and infrastructure to support the production process, with a focus on ensuring regulatory compliance. Initially, this will be a full-time role, transitioning to part-time after the core systems are in place.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Systems: Implement document management, lot control, and traceability systems to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • ERP/MRP Systems: Select and implement an ERP/MRP system to manage production processes and support future growth.
  • IT Infrastructure: Build and manage the core IT infrastructure, including networking, storage, cybersecurity, and enterprise software (e.g., Active Directory, MS Office).
  • Compliance: Ensure all IT systems and processes meet regulatory requirements, particularly for FDA-approved manufacturing facilities.


Key Requirements:

  • Experience as a CIO or senior IT leader within a medical device manufacturing company.
  • Deep understanding of IT systems required for regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems implementation and IT infrastructure management.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.


Contract Duration:

  • Full-Time for the first 3-4 months
  • 50-75% time thereafter
