Junior Buyer Opportunity – Specialist Contractor - Wickford, Essex


I am currently representing a specialist contractor with a collective management experience of well over 30 years’ experience working within the social housing refurbishment sector across London and the Southeast.

Along with our strong and established presence in the social housing sector we have a wide range of experience in the private sector having carried out multiple contracts on a number of prestigious office buildings. Leading Roofing Specialist in the refurbishment and new build sectors and has installed over 90,000m2 of flat roofing in under 6 years.


Duties include:


  • Placing orders with suppliers.
  • Providing timely updates and estimated arrival times to site teams.
  • Responding to invoice enquires.
  • Organising deliveries and checking they are correct on arrival.
  • Maintaining orders using in-house online systems to ensure an efficient service.
  • Supporting all colleagues, dealing with any queries and resolving them in a timely manner.
  • Plan and place effective procurement of materials, equipment and services.
  • Produce accurate material schedules to process purchase orders.
  • Liaise with technical, commercial and construction teams on project specification and requirements.
  • Ensure materials are procured and delivered in time with current build programmes.
  • Comply with and develop project/company procurement procedures.
  • Build relationships with suppliers and ensure logistical deadlines are hit.
  • Monitor price changes within the market and source alternative products/suppliers where necessary to meet budget requirements.
  • Maintain and clear and organised history of work for ease of access.

  • Basic Salary of £35k
  • 4.5 day working week (1 o’clock finish every Friday)
