A Bit About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Commercial Solicitor with 4 years+ PQE to join our team. In addition, you will be passionate about growing and developing our Commercial team and generating new business.


Day to Day Responsibilities

Building a good rapport with referrers and clients

Giving clients confidence to instruct Backhouse to solve their problems

Working on a varied caseload for our existing clients whilst establishing new client relationships within the local market

Ability to lead (or support) the growth of a successful commercial department

Working alongside the team to achieve monthly targets and KPIs

Growing the Backhouse business – working with the rest of the team to develop new opportunities and communicating our message to attract new clients

It goes without saying that as a Solicitors practice, we have high professional standards to meet, and we expect the highest ethical standard from all our team. You will be required to have a flexible and positive approach to working in a busy and growing firm.


Currently a Solicitor of 4 years+ PQE

Experience in Corporate and Commercial matters

Experience in management and business development is desirable but not essential as training will be provided

Experience in M&As, corporate deals, shareholder agreements, management buy-ins/outs, restructuring, financing and general commercial work

You have commercial acumen so you can understand the needs of business clients

Excellent communication skills – confident, clear, articulate and welcoming

You take pride in what you do and provide the highest level of client service

A hard worker who wants to develop their legal career and progress quickly

A team player
