Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer specialising in Product Testing to join our dynamic team in Manchester United Kingdom. As a key member of our engineering department you will play a crucial role in supporting our prototype testing team across various aspects of product testing and equipment development.Understand unique product testing requirements and identify appropriate test equipment needsCreate comprehensive test plans and experiments to ensure accurate and reliable resultsProduce detailed reports with graphical test data concluding the outcome of testsPresent findings to the testing group and stakeholders providing insight on key test eventsDesign assemble and commission prototype test equipmentDevelop new processes procedures and software tools to enhance efficiency and consistencyProduce 3D and 2D designs of mechanical test equipment and assembly toolsConduct hand calculations and simulations (FEA/CFD) to validate new rig and equipment designsContribute to project planning cost estimations and CAPEX business casesEnsure a safe work environment by applying general safety practices and organisational methods like 5SSelf-manage schedule provide commitments and execute tasks effectivelyContribute to team improvement projects and apply a methodical approach to fault-finding and root cause analysesQualifications : Bachelors degree (4/5 years) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field2-5 years of experience in Design/Engineering with a focus on product testing and prototype developmentProficiency in 3D and 2D design software preferably with experience in CAD applicationsStrong knowledge of FEA/CFD simulations and hand calculations for design validationExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex dataExperience in test planning execution and reportingFamiliarity with project planning cost estimation and CAPEX business case developmentUnderstanding of safety practices and 5S methodologyStrong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to present technical information clearlyInnovative mindset with a collaborative approach to teamworkDetail-oriented with excellent organisational skillsKnowledge of mechanical engineering principles and their application in product testingAdditional Information : With colleagues stretching across the globe we are proud of our diversity.
