Landworthiness Manager / Senior EngineerLocation: BristolSecurity Clearance: SC Are you an expert in Landworthiness, System Safety or Environmental Assurance within the defence land domain?Join the team as we strengthen our Systems Engineering capability and take a leading role in ensuring our land-based defence systems are safe, compliant and fully assured.About the RoleAs our Landworthiness Manager / Senior Engineer, you will be the subject matter expert for Landworthiness, safety and environmental engineering across our land system projects. You’ll shape policy, guide engineering teams, support assurance activities and ensure we meet all statutory and contractual requirements.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a highly technical environment, enjoys working across multi-disciplinary teams, and wants real influence over product safety and compliance.What You’ll DoDevelop and maintain Landworthiness, System Safety & Environmental policies and processesLead audit and assurance activities across all land programmesOversee creation of key artefacts: SEMPs, Hazard Logs, Safety & Environmental Case Reports, Landworthiness Evidence PacksGuide teams in meeting statutory and contractual Landworthiness requirementsPresent assurance evidence at design reviews, audits and customer forumsIdentify improvements across engineering and business processesProvide training, mentorship and technical guidance to maintain a strong safety cultureAct as the organisational expert for Landworthiness in line with defence regulatory frameworksWhat You BringProven experience in Landworthiness or Land System Safety within defenceStrong knowledge of Defence Standards (e.g., Def Stan 00-056) & land safety regulationsExperience across the engineering lifecycle and assurance gatesPrior safety, landworthiness or technical authority delegation beneficialExcellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skillsWhy Join Us?You’ll shape the safety and assurance of cutting-edge defence land systems, influence engineering policy, and operate as the go-to Landworthiness expert within a supportive, collaborative engineering environment.Apply today and help us deliver safe, compliant and mission-ready land systems.
