Job Description: UCC Holdings is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Design Manager to join our growing team in Kensington, London. As a Senior Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the design process of our prestigious construction projects, ensuring compliance with program requirements, regulations, and client specifications. From concept development to project execution, you will lead the design team in delivering projects of the highest quality while maximizing value engineering opportunities and minimizing costs.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design process from concept through to detailed design, BOQ, IFCs, and project execution, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee multiple related projects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and timely delivery to clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to obtain project briefs, manage feasibility studies, and ensure project objectives are met.
  • Select and manage consultants, ensuring timely deliverables and approvals.
  • Review design concepts and drawings, providing feedback and alternatives to meet project goals.
  • Obtain necessary approvals from authorities and ensure project designs meet regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement value engineering schemes to optimize technical innovations and cost efficiencies.
  • Ensure projects meet sustainability requirements such as QSAS, GSAS, or LEED.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success and foster a culture of excellence.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Utilize CAD, document control, and planning systems effectively.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in all aspects of project management.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in a similar role, with at least 4 years in the UK market.
  • Thorough knowledge of design and construction methodologies.
  • Membership in a professional association such as RIBA or equivalent is desirable.
