Are you our next Director of Global Real Estate?

As the Global Retail Property Director at Gymshark, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful growth of our retail presence while maintaining our brand's reputation for excellence. With responsibility for overseeing the entire lifecycle of our retail properties, you will be involved in the initial design and construction phase through to lease agreements and property management.

Responsible for:

Property Strategy and Planning:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive retail property strategy that aligns with Gymshark's growth objectives.
  • Identify potential retail locations and perform market research to assess viability.
Design and Construction Management:
  • Oversee the design and construction of Gymshark retail stores, ensuring they reflect the brand's image and meet operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and designers to maintain project timelines and budgets.
Lease Agreements:
  • Negotiate lease agreements with landlords and property management companies, ensuring terms are favourable to Gymshark's interests.
  • Manage lease renewals, extensions, and terminations as necessary.
Budget and Cost Management:
  • Develop and manage the budget for retail property projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial guidelines.
Compliance and Regulation:
  • Stay up-to-date with local and national regulations related to retail property management and ensure Gymshark's compliance.
  • Address any legal or regulatory issues that may arise.
Vendor and Stakeholder Relations:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and stakeholders, including landlords, contractors, and local authorities.
Performance Analysis:
  • Implement KPIs and performance metrics to assess the effectiveness and profitability of Gymshark's retail properties.
  • Provide regular reports to the executive team on property performance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of global retail property management experience, including management of new store openings and an existing portfolio.
  • Experience in developing and delivering a global retail real estate strategy with a meaningful vision and clear deliverables that support continuous improvement and business growth.
  • Experience managing global retail estate teams with excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Knowledge of local and national real estate laws and regulations.
  • Excellent project management and budgeting skills.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L management and budget oversight.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
