About the role

A vacancy for a Despatch Supervisor is now available at our Glaisdale site in Nottingham. The main responsibility of this role entails managing the despatch process over all business channels within the Hunter Douglas UK Group, ensuring all KPIs are met, whilst working closely with and supporting the rest of the team as appropriate.

Despatch Supervisor key responsibilities are as follows, but not limited to:

  • Ensuring compliance is up to date with health and safety standards in the distribution area.
  • Keeping the team and contractors updated on regulations and consistently maintaining current paperwork.
  • Managing the despatch team and creating a working environment that reflects the company values.
  • Actively promoting and instigating continuous improvements.
  • Managing the aisle activity and loading.
  • Running of the daily exception’s report.
  • Overseeing the operation from intersite, unloading/loading to van scans and loading of delivery vehicles.
  • Assisting with the LGI and route cause analysis.
  • Overseeing the delivery of Contract Manufactured products into the department.
  • Maintaining good inter departmental relationships.
  • Recruitment and selection when needed.
  • Responsive to all queries resulting in a resolution along with process improvement.
  • Managing Team Leaders effectively through training, 1:1’s and providing clear objectives.

About you

The successful and ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience of working within a distribution environment.
  • Have previous experience of managing a team.
  • Have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and SAP.
  • GCSE Level Maths and English.
  • Have the ability to resolve issues quickly using clear logical thinking.
