Role Title:

Engineering Manager


Role Purpose

This role purposes are:

Organize the engineering team in order to deliver projects in the best manner.

Drive technical discussions toward optimized solutions for project delivery

Deliver Engineering packages and scopes on EPCI type tenders and projects


Key Areas of Responsibility

Technically responsible for Engineering activities to provide services for projects, studies and tenders. Primarily, establishing the requirements, and then implementing the procedures/guidelines for all related disciplines.

Team organization toward delivery of projects deliverables and activities.

Resource identification and planning for all related works to meet the forecasted activities.

Maintain awareness of today's industry and contribute to the continuous improvement of the disciplines through networking and support to regular forums/meetings.


Key Tasks

Plan the activities within the discipline or project for efficient execution.

Justify and defend all the related engineering activities in front of clients in a highly professional and technical manner.

Apply knowledge and understanding in support of disciplines that interface with engineering activities.

Review of engineering deliverables in a professional and accurate manner related to all disciplines.

Review client specifications and provide comments/alternatives, if not within the capabilities of related disciplines.

Understand, apply and follow the client specifications along with the best industry practice for all the related disciplines.

Organize clients review to understand client understanding of activities and ways of working in advance of procedures submission.

To provides leadership and consultation to technical leads and project managers.

To educate, mentor and supervise less experienced staff.

To monitor and approve contributions and updates to design.

To optimize technical project and tender solution toward

Project Delivery in a timely and efficient manner

Quality of Project and tenders deliverables

Team efficiency and level of knowledge in cable installation

Project team and Client satisfaction with provided solution.

Engineering team mental health

The ability to organize and prioritize own work and as such have responsibility for discrete work packages ongoing simultaneously

Understanding of clients’ needs and ability to suggest and apply “fit for purpose” solutions

High focus on doing it right the first time i.e high focus on highlighting risk and mitigating them as well as putting in place processes allowing right delivery.


Education and Qualifications Specific to Role

Essential Qualifications

Post Graduate Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.

Strong focus on technical knowledge within discipline.

Good knowledge of cable laying

Desirable Qualifications or Equivalent Experience

Expert with proven ability over an extended breadth of execution.

Acquainted in Legislations and Standards as relevant for the area of responsibility.


Demonstrable Experience Specific to Role

Engineering Discipline Manager (Min 2 years)

Project Engineering Manager (Min 2 years)

Project Engineer (Minimum 5 years)
