Structures InspectorBecktonFull TimeRingway, a trusted provider of highways services to the public sector, is seeking a detail-focused Structures Inspector to join the team and support the delivery of a defined programme of structural inspections.In this key role, you will carry out Principal Inspections (PIs) and General Inspections (GIs), ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and in line with programme, quality, and performance targets.The RoleYou will play a critical part in maintaining structural integrity across the network, producing high-quality inspection reports, upholding safety standards, supporting colleagues with technical guidance, and contributing to year-on-year efficiency and performance improvements.This role also requires flexibility, with occasional overnight and weekend working depending on programme demands.Key ResponsibilitiesComplete PIs and GIs in accordance with the inspection programme set by the Structures Inspectors Manager.Produce accurate, high-quality inspection reports in line with client specifications.Maintain inspection standards by reviewing and validating reports completed by other inspectors.Monitor progress against programme and costs, ensuring margin and efficiency targets are achieved.Prepare and review risk assessments and method statements (RA/MS) for inspection activities and ensure full compliance on site.Promote safe working practices and support a zero-incident culture.Attend and assist with network incidents when required.Liaise with maintenance and traffic management teams to optimise use of planned or emergency closures.Ensure all work aligns with corporate and local business objectives and meets contractual and performance requirements.About YouDegree in Civil Engineering.Strong commitment to health, safety, and safe systems of work.Demonstrable experience in undertaking General and Principal inspections of highway structures.Solid understanding of bridge condition indicators.Experience leading and delivering structural inspections.
