About FOX Managed SolutionsFOX Managed Solutions (FOX) is a leading UK print, direct-mail and fulfilment specialist, delivering creative, compliant, and data-secure marketing communications for global brands.We’re trusted by high-profile organisations who rely on us for exceptional service, operational precision, and certified quality.With integrated ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), ISO 27001 (Information Security) and FSC® Chain-of-Custody certifications, FOX operates to the highest international standards — blending innovation, environmental accountability, and end-to-end delivery.As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Production & Operations Director to lead all manufacturing and fulfilment functions across print, mailing, warehousing, and distribution.This is a senior, hands-on leadership role — suited to an operational professional who combines strategic thinking with day-to-day control and who takes pride in building teams that deliver best-in-class performance.About the RoleThe Production & Operations Director is responsible for the efficient and effective running of FOX’s production and operational activities.You’ll oversee our print and mailing facilities, warehousing, and fulfilment operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to ISO-certified quality standards.Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the wider Senior Management Team, you will help shape the company’s operational strategy and drive continuous improvement throughout the business.Key to this role is promoting the FOX brand and reputation for reliability, innovation, and excellence — ensuring every project reflects our commitment to quality, data security, and environmental responsibility.What You’ll DoOperational LeadershipLead all day-to-day production, mailing, fulfilment, and warehouse operations.Manage workflow scheduling, resource planning, and production meetings to ensure seamless delivery across departments.Drive operational excellence through process improvement, waste reduction, and efficiency gains.Track and report on KPIs including output, on-time delivery, downtime, and waste performance.Oversee maintenance schedules, consumable procurement, and production capacity planning.Ensure that every project meets agreed SLAs, client expectations, and profitability targets.People & Team ManagementLead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams across production, print, fulfilment, and logistics.Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training plans to ensure capability growth.Conduct appraisals, manage holidays and absences, and maintain staff discipline and engagement.Create a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Work collaboratively with Account Directors, Account Managers, and Directors across the business to deliver a unified service for every client.Supplier & Procurement ManagementManage supplier relationships, ensuring alignment with FOX's quality and compliance standards.Conduct supplier reviews and site visits in line with ISO and FSC® requirements.Negotiate competitive pricing and service agreements for consumables and outsourced production.Collaborate with the Commercial & IT Director on supplier risk assessments and onboarding procedures.Quality & ComplianceAct as Quality Manager, ensuring full compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and internal QMS procedures.Support audit readiness across all operations and lead corrective actions and management reviews.Ensure consistent alignment between Quality (ISO 9001), Environmental (ISO 14001) and Information Security (ISO 27001) frameworks.Act as the senior FSC® Chain-of-Custody representative for operational compliance and record-keeping.Health, Safety & Facilities ManagementTake ownership of all Health & Safety responsibilities across the site, ensuring compliance with legislation.Manage fire safety, risk assessments, COSHH, first aid, and emergency procedures.Lead the Health & Safety Team and embed safe working practices at every level.Oversee building maintenance, site upkeep, and cleaning contracts to maintain a professional, safe environment.Manage utility contracts and ensure cost-efficient operation of the site.Environmental Responsibility (ISO 14001)Champion FOX's environmental and sustainability objectives.Monitor waste, recycling, and energy metrics; drive continual improvement in performance.Ensure compliance with all environmental legislation and promote responsible behaviour among staff.Liaise with the Commercial & IT Director on energy procurement and sustainability initiatives.Information Security & Data Handling (ISO 27001)Support the maintenance of FOX’s Information Security Management System.Ensure secure data handling, storage, and destruction across production and mailing operations.Maintain physical access controls, visitor procedures, and CCTV systems.Promote awareness and training on data-security responsibilities for operational teams.Capital Investment & InnovationIdentify opportunities for automation, new equipment, and process efficiency.Build business cases for capital investments, including cost, ROI, and implementation plans.Manage installation, supplier liaison, and staff training for new systems and technologies.Business Continuity & Risk ManagementMaintain the company’s disaster-recovery and emergency-contact frameworks.Ensure contingency plans and operational resilience are up to date.Take ownership of operational incidents, ensuring prompt investigation and resolution.About YouYou Will Have:A proven background (5 + years) in a senior operations or production management role within print, mailing, or fulfilment.Experience leading large teams (40 + staff) and managing complex multi-department operations.Strong commercial understanding, with the ability to manage budgets, costs, and KPIs.Excellent organisational and leadership skills with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset.Excellent IT literacy, particularly in Word, Excel, and Print MIS systems.Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 27001 and FSC® Chain-of-Custody standards.You Will Be:A confident and motivational leader who inspires trust and accountability.Analytical, detail-oriented, and commercially astute.Calm under pressure and decisive in challenging situations.Passionate about continuous improvement and best-practice operations.An advocate for FOX's values of integrity, reliability, and client trust.Qualifications Preferred:Degree in Business, Operations Management, or related discipline.MBA desirable but not essential.Why Join FOX?
