About the Role
Reporting directly to the COO, you’ll play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the firm. In this client-facing position, you will have great written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail. You will oversee a portfolio of clients, lead client HMRC reporting and drive projects to enhance bookkeeping and financial reporting efficiency whilst supporting the team.
Flexible working hours, ranging from part-time to full-time, can be tailored and discussed based on both individual preferences and company requirements. The candidate must be able to commute to Edinburgh city centre 2-3 times per week.
Role Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the COO, and involved with strategic decisions of the firm you’ll be responsible for:
● Operating in a client-facing role and overseeing a portfolio of clients, assisting with month-end preparation, agile FC / FD services (budgets, projections, management reports, etc) and tax compliance.
● Overseeing client HMRC reporting including VAT, Payroll, and Corporation Tax.
● Spearheading projects that improve the efficiency of our bookkeeping and financial reporting tasks firm-wide.
● Supporting bookkeeping needs to the team during peak periods.
● Assisting with new client onboarding.
● Managing statutory year-end submissions.
● Introducing technology solutions.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
● Proven 2+ years’ experience post qualification or Qualified by Experience Accountant. You have experience working in an accounting function in industry & have overseen the full cycle.
● You are comfortable with software such as Xero, Dext and Syft. Software expertise will help a candidate progress in the firm,
● You believe in delivering awesome customer service and you have experience in a customer-facing role and are confident in communicating with a variety of different stakeholders. You have experience putting together financial statements, budgets, cash-flow projections, and various financial reports to assist management in making decisions.
● You are fluent in English.
