- Conduct assessments of children and young people with special educational needs, providing statutory advice in line with the 2014 Children and Families Act and SEND Code of Practice.
- Contribute to tribunal procedures where necessary.
- Work collaboratively with parents, schools, and other professionals to support children’s development and educational progress.
- Ensure concerns related to Child Protection or Children in Need are reported according to local procedures.
- Promote inclusive, evidence-based practices in schools to improve education access and attainment, particularly for vulnerable children.
- Produce high-quality reports following established templates and protocols.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain a high standard of practice.
- Qualified status in Educational and Child Psychology, approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS) or equivalent.
- Graduate Basis for Registration and a recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational and Child Psychology.
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Previous experience as an educational psychologist or completing a recognised postgraduate qualification in the field.
- Strong knowledge of child development, psychological models, and child-related legislation.
- Commitment to inclusive practice and equal opportunities in schools.
- Positive attitude toward continuous professional development and reflective practice.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, working effectively with parents, schools, and other professionals.
- Understanding of the importance of inclusive education and promoting equitable access for all children.
