Deutsche Bank's Rates business leads with scale and strength in providing asset and liability solutions to institutional and corporate clients globally.

We give clients access to the Bank's liquidity and product expertise through our global sales, trading and structuring teams, as well as our electronic trading channels.

Our product range includes fixed income securities, exchange traded funds and derivatives in interest rates, long dated Foreign Exchange (FX), multi-asset correlation products and commodities.

This role will leverage the AUD Rates franchise in the European time zone from both a product and overall business perspective. The role will focus on delivering business growth and continued operating performance through expanding client relationships and disciplined risk management. A key requirement will be stakeholder engagement and relationship building both externally with clients, and internally with various teams including, but not limited to, sales, structuring, research and control functions. The person recruited will work closely with a team of traders across regions, and be responsible for pricing, trading, risk management, fostering strategic growth and identifying new business opportunities.

Your key responsibilities
  • Market Making and Risk Managing AUD and NZD Bonds and Derivatives and be responsible for providing liquidity and recycling risk profitably
  • Interact with clients, sales and internal counterparties in other trading, coverage, and structuring functions to increase market transparency and to generate new business
  • Responsible for further developing and enhancing the AUD franchise
  • Generating trading strategies in collaboration with the trading team and building a sustainable business and market share
  • Developing trading talent within the trading team
  • Analyse market structure and the opportunities and threats there-in, as well as managing financial risk and non-financial risks
Your skills and experience
  • A strong understanding of the asset class and a proven track-record in revenue generation
  • A proven track-record in sustaining/generating high quality market share and strong risk management skills
  • Strong quantitative skills with a deep understanding of capital and regulatory matters in bonds and derivatives
  • Ability to understand and interpret market trends and identify, communicate and market trade ideas
  • Experience in the e-trading space for bonds and derivatives and experience with market-making in AUD Bonds and Derivatives and correlated cash instruments
  • Excellent communicator (verbal and written) with strong interpersonal skills
