We’re hiring for Warehouse Operative on night shift position on the AkzoNobel contract in Stowmarket, where safety, teamwork and efficiency come first.AkzoNobel is a global leader in paints and coatings, recognised for its innovative products and strong commitment to sustainability. With operations in over 150 countries, the company delivers high-quality solutions that protect and enhance surfaces around the world.This is a full-time, permanent position, working 42.5 hours per week on night shift, Monday to Friday, covering the hours of 22:00 to 06:30. Please note that this role is fixed term, running until 31st July 2026.Pay, benefits and more:An hourly rate of £13.24Holiday payWorkplace pensionA 24/7 online GP service, life assurance and a fully comprehensive employee assistance programmeAccess to our MyBenefits platform offering a variety of high street discounts, cashback cards, a saving scheme and much moreAccess to GXO University – home to a wealth of online training courses, meaning your development never endsWhat you will do on a typical day:Receive, check and correctly store incoming stock while ensuring all documentation (e.g., pick sheets, receipts) is completed accuratelyPick paint orders precisely, wrap pallets, label goods and prepare them for dispatch with a high standard of qualitySupport the safe and efficient loading and unloading of multiple vehicles using powered pallet trucks (PPT) and manual handling techniquesOperate forklifts (FLT) and PPTs for stock replenishment and putaway, while maintaining smooth warehouse flowKeep the warehouse clean and organised, following strict health and safety procedures at all timesWhat you need to succeed at GXO:Previous warehouse or logistics experience is helpful and FLT or reach truck experience is a bonus — but full training will be provided if neededGood attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong team player with a positive attitudeAbility to follow instructions and adhere to safety standardsReliable with good timekeepingWe engineer faster, smarter, leaner supply chains.GXO is a leading provider of cutting-edge supply chain solutions to the most successful companies in the world.
