JOB TITLE: Senior Lingerie & Swimwear Designer (maternity cover)

LOCATION: Hybrid - Uxbridge, UB8

We are looking for a Lingerie & Swimwear Senior Technical Design Manager to join our team as a maternity cover. The ideal candidate will be someone that will align with our business core values which are ‘wow the customer,’ ‘always be better’ and ‘work as a team.’ In return we will offer you a role where you will feel happy, challenged and winning. 


About the role: 

You will be working within our Product design team at our Uxbridge office and remotely within a commutable distance to our Head Office, your responsibilities will include: 


  • Manage the Design Development Process from concept through to sign-off for Curvy Kate and Brastop Internal brands.
  • Create & deliver the Seasonal Design Brief, in accordance with the option plan issued by Head of Buying & Merchandising to inform design concept development.
  • Research & report upon trends in fabrics, products, fit and price within the Lingerie & Swimwear market, attending relevant seasonal trade shows and translate trends into new design concepts for future seasons, maintaining brand handwriting.
  • Review all product image & video assets ahead of launching marketing campaigns.
  • Develop patterns and grading for the development of assigned launch product using Lectra Modaris software.
  • Apply and develop grade rules for assigned product in accordance with the Business grading standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Garment Technologist to confirm fit approval status in line with Brand expectations.
  • Develop, Supervise & Support assigned Technical Designers
  • Develop and train assigned team members, sharing knowledges & implementing appropriate training.
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the Technical Designers
  • Manage & Delegate the Colour for Curvy Kate & Brastop Internal Product
  • Must have technical experience and people managing experience

 

 

About you:

  • A minimum of eight years’ experience in the technical design development of fuller bust lingerie
  • Offer inspiring & informed guidance on Branded product development to junior team members.
  • Be an authority on fuller bust product, design aesthetic, product features & benefits.
  • Experienced use of Lectra Modaris pattern cutting & grading software for wired product
  • Comprehensive experience in the fit & development of fuller bust products & innovation, including moulded styles.
  • Use of Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop to create Technical & Design CADs
  • Attention to detail and passionate pursuit of great-fitting, comfortable product.
  • A passionate, proactive & well-organised team player
  • Excellent communicator, who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and suppliers and building relationships.
