People Internal Communications Officer

The Internal Communications Officer (ICO) is to support the Internal Communications Manager (ICM) in creating and publishing communications on a range of media relating to NBC(D) organisation and coordinating events within the HMNB(D).Support the planning and organisation of planned events such as NBC(D) campaigns, events, Clear Lower Decks, working alongside the Exec team to support Devonport events.Support the Internal communications manager in the creation and publication of NBC(D) newsletter.Support the planning of events within the wider NBC(D) organisation, STEM/Outreach events. Working alongside stakeholders and the Industrial Partner.Manage the attendance of events and support the ICM to manage distribution of advertisement and communications supporting events.Work with the People team and the ICM supporting the creation and implementation of Internal Communication across Devonport.Assist in producing good quality creative media content through own work and working through others in the team. Ability to use own initiative to progress work and ensure that staff across all business areas are actively engaged and feel included in the organisations work.Person specification

The post holder will require strong verbal & writing skills, and a natural ability to think strategically. They will also require excellent Communication skills.

The position requires a passionate and enthusiastic people person who has a strong team ethic. A diplomatic team-player who can establish positive relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation and at all levels.

They musthave strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships, as well as the abilityto listen to and interact confidently with others.There is a requirement to manage multiple tasks effectively, always planning so deadlines are met and ensuring a quality output is maintained. All whilst demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
