Mechanical Design Engineer (Mid-Level) Location: Birmingham, United Kingdom Contract: 12-month contract, Outside IR35 Rate: £20–£30 per hour About the Role We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of mechanical systems for themed attractions, immersive experiences, show action equipment, interactives, and bespoke engineered solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with design, engineering, fabrication, and project management teams to deliver safe, innovative, and production-ready mechanical systems that align with both creative and operational requirements. Key Responsibilities * Develop mechanical concepts and detailed designs for show action equipment, animated features, special effects, mechanisms, and themed components. * Produce high-quality 3D models, assemblies, detailed 2D drawings, tolerance analyses, and engineering documentation. * Conduct engineering calculations including stress analysis, load assessments, material sizing, motion studies, and kinematic evaluations. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical, structural, scenic, and control components. * Work with fabrication teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and compatible with workshop capabilities. * Support prototype builds, mechanical te...
