Senior Technical Lead

Greenfield Consumer Search Product development

Salary up to £130k + Benefits + Bonus + hybrid working

A Senior Tech Lead / Principal Software Engineer opportunity within a high performing software engineering department. The Senior Tech Lead will take a hands-on role in leading the development and associate processes of a Consumer Search product as part of a full stack team.


The position requires commercial experience of Consumer Search product development for a retail business or similar. Candidates who are Tech agnostic are preferred, but backgrounds with modern JavaScript libraries and modern Cloud platform experience is preferred.


Your areas of expertise:

  • A strong background in software engineering; ideally full stack and exposure to modern cloud platforms.
  • Commercial experience with Semantic Search, AI Search optimisation, Elasticsearch or similar
  • Leading by example in setting software engineering best practice and standards; SOLID, TDD, CI/CD, DevOps, etc
  • The ability to work with Product and Data Science teams in building complex customer facing products.
  • Delivering in Big Tech, Marketplace, or similar environments.
  • Experienced in technical decision making and software architecture, Event Driven, Microservices or similar.


The business offer hybrid working options with the usual ratio of 2-3 days per week in their London offices.
