Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced In-House SEO/Web Developer with a robust background in web development and e-commerce. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing and optimising websites for e-commerce. You will collaborate closely with our marketing and sales teams to enhance our website’s functionality, improve user experience, and drive our SEO strategy to achieve top search engine rankings.


What you’ll do

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive SEO strategy to improve organic search rankings, drive traffic, and increase conversions.
  • Manage, maintain, and enhance our website using coding (PHP) on a wordpress platform. Ensure the website is optimised for speed, performance, and mobile responsiveness.
  • Oversee the setup and ongoing management of our online store, including product listings, payment gateways, and customer experience optimisation.
  • Conduct technical audits and optimise the website for search engines, including URL structures, sitemaps, page speed, and more.
  • Collaborate with the content team to ensure all web content is SEO-friendly, keyword-optimised, and aligned with our brand’s voice and goals.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on website performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other SEO tools. Provide actionable insights to improve overall performance.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to align web and SEO strategies with broader marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot any issues related to the website, SEO, or e-commerce platforms.


Requirements 

  • Back-End Web Development and Programming skills
  • Front-End Development and Web Design skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Relevant SEO certifications (such from Google, HubSpot and/or Semrush).
  • 3+ years of experience as an WEB developer / SEO manager or a similar SEO-focused role.
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO best practices, search engine algorithms and digital marketing trends, with a strong understanding of the search landscape.
  • Knowledge of A/B testing, local SEO and SEO reporting tools.
  • Proficiency with SEO and analytics tools like Google Search Console, SEMrush, Google Keyword Planner and Google Analytics.
  • Experience with SEO for local businesses and Google My Business optimisation.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Preferred skills and qualifications 

  • Familiarity with retail E-commerce industry or home improvement sector is a plus.
  • Familiar with A good grasp of UX/UI principles to enhance the website’s user experience.
  • Ability to write and optimise code for better website functionality and SEO outcomes (HTML/CSS coding, Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising and link-building strategies.)
  • Familiarity with social media marketing and its impact on SEO.
  • Experience with SEO testing and experimentation.
  • Understanding of conversion rate optimisation (CRO) principles.
