Role Overview:

The Site Lead Planner is a crucial member of the project core team, responsible for owning and driving the project construction execution schedule. This role is instrumental in ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and in conformity with the contract while managing customer expectations. As part of the Project Controls function, the Site Lead Planner manages project schedules according to established global processes, tools, metrics, and operating rhythms.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Management:
  • Develop and maintain the construction & commissioning schedule, integrating inputs from all project contributors.
  • Ensure proper linkages in the schedule to reflect all interdependencies.
  • Maintain the schedule throughout the construction & commissioning phase, gathering inputs from all project contributors.
  • Deliver high-quality schedules aligned with global standards to ensure accurate project representation.
  • Analysis and Reporting:
  • Provide schedule analysis to identify risks and opportunities, and collaborate with project team members to implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide weekly site look-aheads aligned with the contract schedule, clearly communicating potential and real risks.
  • Generate "what-if" scenarios to optimize execution and work with project teams to evaluate feasibility.
  • Provide regular status reports with forecasting and analytics to project team members.
  • Align schedule with cost controlling functions to ensure clear alignment between cost and schedule.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Provide schedule status updates to the Site Manager, site team, Project Lead Planner, and PM.
  • Identify and drive solutions for engineering & procurement blockers with the project team and third parties.
  • Organize and lead timely Planning Reviews with site project team and third-party subcontractors to drive and challenge progress, agree on forecasts, and share schedule issues with mitigation plans.
  • Communicate directly with customers on scheduling matters and provide contractually required customer reporting.
  • Frequently and clearly communicate project status to all project participants and escalate issues/risks for proper resolution.
  • Resource Management and Support:
  • Load resources into the project schedule.
  • Support disputes and analysis of claims.
  • Assist with change order analysis through schedule analytics and forecasts.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning management within a project team.
  • Experience in site-located construction & commissioning planning.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in planning control principles (WBS, critical path, progress).
  • Proficiency in planning tools (MS-Project and/or Primavera).
