Buyer - Meat & Poultry

• We specialises in B2B meat and poultry trading, buying products from within the UK and Europe and supplying to UK manufacturers and wholesalers.

What we need from you as a Meat & Poultry Buyer:

• Previous experience working as a buyer / purchaser in an FMCG Role or a role that involves negotiation and building relationships
• Good computer skills, including Google Sheets/Excel & Word
• Experience calling or emailing clients
• Be able to manage your own time effectively, using your own initiative
• Good team player
• Excellent communication skills
• Driving Licence

Desirable but not essential:

• Familiar with Apple products iPhone/iMacs
• Similar industry knowledge – Pet Food sector experience would be a bonus

What the role involves:

• Calling and emailing suppliers - comparing prices with the suppliers to save on costs, where possible
• Entering data into the CRM and sharing this data with the sales team
• Calling transport companies to see if any rates can be negotiated and shopping around to get the best transport deals
• Liaising with accounts and sales team on various matters
• Manage photos and documents received from suppliers
• Visiting suppliers to build/grow relationships
• Attending trade shows to acquire new suppliers
• Email marketing, using social media to find leads
• Learning market prices so products are sourced at the best prices

Salary/Hours: Negotiable, depending on experience in purchasing. Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm.
