Whether your background is in life sciences finance IT sales or another area your skills will play an important role in the work we return well help you build a career that you can feel passionate about.Profile and Requirements Working closely with the Site Lead H&S Team and Quality & Compliance Manger this role will be central in shaping leading and implementing our HSQE strategy across the Margate site.Key Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Manager:Lead and develop the companys HSQE strategy policies and management systems.Oversee health safety quality and environmental compliance across all projects.Carry out and report on audits inspections and site visits.Support site teams and supply chain with practical HSQE guidance.Oversee the management of the Maintenance Department ensuring that objectives and customers expectations are met.Ensure that expenditure is controlled in line with the annual budget.Ensure compliance with UK legislation CDM Regulations and ISO standards.Review and approve RAMS quality plans and environmental management plans.Lead investigations into incidents non-conformances and implement corrective actions.Deliver training toolbox talks and awareness sessions.Carry out performance appraisals of direct reports.Act as the key point of contact for HSQE matters with clients consultants and enforcing bodies.Requirements for the Health and Safety Manager:NEBOSH General & ConstructionBoiler house risk assessment training (BOAS)A degree in occupational health and safety environmental scienceSite Manager Safety Training Schem (SMSTS)Tech IOSH or higherIn-depth Knowledge of Health and Safety RegulationsComprehensive understanding of the laws and standards governing construction and site safety.Risk ManagementAbility to identify assess and mitigate risksStrong communication skills to effectively disseminate safety information and conduct training sessions.Innovative and practical problem-solving abilities to address health and safety challenges.Organisational SkillsProficiency in managing documentation conducting audits and maintaining records related to health and safety.Full UK driving licence due to site locationQualifications (Nice to have)Some understanding of ISO 9001Diploma in industrial boiler plant management (BOAS Manager)A professional certification such as the Certified Safety ProfessionalBenefits:Life assurance bonus career development training opportunities free onsite parking subsidised staff room pay for participation on volunteer days on-site team building charity fundraising days employee engagement programs.Pension plan:1st year employee -Company contribution 5% - Employee 4% After 3 years: Company contribution 9% and employee 1%Holidays- 26 days 8 for Public holidaysHours: 35 Hrs a week Mon - Friday (Flexibility required)Salary: DOE - To be discussed at interviewAbout Research Models & ServicesFundamental to basic research and discovery is the use of in vivo models to help identify disease targets and determine potential biological pathways that regulate the condition.
