About You

We are seeking a dedicated Financial Assistant with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping, financial administration, or a similar role. The successful candidate will work closely with, and be mentored by, the Financial Controller, leveraging their existing expertise while mastering the responsibilities outlined below.

You could currently be working within the finance team of a SaaS or technology-related organisation perhaps studying for your ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualification. You may also be a desk-ready Returner with a previous career in finance operations, admin or accounting.


Above all, you have exceptional attention to detail and are ambitious and progressive in your thinking and way of working. You enjoy collaborating with your colleagues across multiple departments and can also work independently, able to proactively manage your workload and commitments in a face-paced environment, to meet the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting routines of the business.



About the Role

The successful candidate will report to the Financial Controller, and will support them with all aspects of finance administration and accounting, including but not limited to:

  • Assisting in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
  • Processing invoices, expense claims, and payment runs accurately and timely
  • Administering payroll and calculate commissions.
  • Reconciling bank statements and manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Calculating renewal pricing for long-term customers
  • Posting supplier invoices and credit card transactions
  • Raising Sales Ledger invoices and track supplier payments
  • Calculating renewal pricing for long-term customers
  • Journaling of deferred income, pre-payments and accruals
  • Preparation of UK, AU, EU, Canadian VAT reports for Infonetica software business
  • Raising Inter-company invoices
  • Booking sales receipts and manage sales invoices for Infonetica’s training business
  • Preparation of EU VAT report for Infonetica’s training business
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
  • Managing petty cash and company credit card reconciliations
  • Managing debt collection
  • Assisting with audits and implement audit recommendations
  • Collaboration with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
  • Utilising Xero accounting software and other tools to perform daily tasks efficiently
  • Provision of detailed analysis to support financial statements



Desired skills and experience:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
  • Hands-on experience managing Purchase Ledger and/or Credit Control and Sales Ledger.
  • Proficiency in using Xero accounting software for invoicing and statement tracking (a must-have)
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

The ideal candidate may also possess:

  • Familiarity with Xero Payroll
  • Experience of working with foreign exchange and making accounting entries in multiple currencies
  • Experience working within small to medium sized SaaS companies
  • Background in a start-up or scale-up environment

Flexible Working & Location

TThis role is offered as a part-time hybrid role for 30 hours per week. Our UK office is in Esher, Surrey which is a 30-minute train ride from London Waterloo and the successful candidate will be expected to be present in the office for agreed hours on a Monday, Tuesday & Thursday with the rest of the hours worked flexibly from home.
