Legal Cashier Location: Coventry Monday - Friday (36 hours) and office basedSalary £23,000+ DOEOur client is looking for an experienced legal cashier to join their busy and growing team in Coventry.Main Duty To provide support to the Financial Controller, Partners and internal members of staff to ensure the smooth running of the department and firm. This will include but will not be limited to the main responsibilities given below. The Legal Cashier is expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative.Main responsibilitiesChecking and processing cheque,BACS and Chaps paymentsChecking and processing invoices and maintaining the purchase ledgerControl and reconciliation of Client AccountControl and reconciliation of petty cashOpening new matters on the accounts systemMoney laundering checksProcessing time sheetsFilingPreparation of daily bankingChecking and Processing of Expense ClaimsOne-off tasks as required by Financial Controller/Head of cash officeProviding cover on the switchboard (although this would be rare) Skills, Abilities and KnowledgeAbility to work under pressure, with a high standard of accuracy is essentialGeneral understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles, and the associated terminologyAbility to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.Good understanding of Excel, Word and MS office.Ability to work within the requirement of confidentiality.Ability to work effectively and flexibly as part of a team.Willingness to take on additional administrative duties/responsibilities (including covering reception, money laundering).Excellent interpersonal and client liaison skills, and a good professional telephone manner
