Job Description

Airswift are currently partnering with a large global EPC company who are currently in need of an experienced and motivated Principal Electrical Engineer to be based in Brentford, UK. The Engineer will join their project delivery team in Brentford on a 12-month contract basis. This role will require a strong focus on leadership responsibilities, including budget oversight, planning, cost control, and team management.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage electrical engineering services that meet the client's applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
  2. Manage electrical engineering project requirements.
  3. Manage electrical engineering services such as:
  4. Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and comply with required checking procedures.
  5. Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
  6. Provide advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, including overseeing requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and purchase order preparation.
  7. Act as the electrical engineering Lead on specific projects.
  8. If responsible for a team:
  9. Outline project requirements including actively promoting workshare, where appropriate, assign tasks and supervise progress.
  10. Ensure the required services meet the client's applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.
  11. Proactively resolve any discrepancies between the client and its customer's requirements.
  12. Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in electrical engineering.
  13. If required, assist and support junior personnel within the electrical engineering team.
  14. Communicate effectively with the electrical engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
  15. Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
Qualifications and Requirements
  1. Excellent technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to the client.
  2. Excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of electrical engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
  3. Excellent knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications.
  4. Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and electrical engineering-specific software.
  5. Extensive technical and practical experience in electrical engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working on multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
Required
  1. A recognized and relevant engineering degree.
  2. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
  3. Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering; management, project management, or supervisory qualifications or equivalent.
