Job Title SQL Database Administrator Job Description We are currently seeking a SQL Database Administrator to take responsibility for deploying, administering, monitoring, and improving databases and integrations for Sage's internal applications. As a SQL Database Administrator at Sage, you'll work closely with delivery teams to bridge the gap between Development and Operations, ensuring databases are consistently available, secure, and high-performing. *** Please note that this role is hybrid and will require you to work 3 days a week from our Newcastle office. *** Key Responsibilities • Design, implement, and optimize on-premises and cloud database architectures that support business applications while ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance. • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to improve system efficiency. • Manage database and tool migrations, upgrades, and patch implementations. • Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity. Requirements • Extensive expertise in MS SQL Server. • Skilled in query optimization, indexing, and high-availability configurations (e.g., Always On Availability Groups). • Experience with Snowflake (preferred). • Familiarity with MySQL and PostgreSQL is a plus. • Experience managing and supporting cloud databases on Azure and AWS. #LI-AS1 Function IT Country United Kingdom Office Location Newcastle Work Place type Hybrid Advert Working at Sage means you're supporting millions of small and medium sized businesses globally with technology to work faster and smarter.
