Working in the public sector you will be required to act as Corporate Health and Safety Officer ensuring compliance and the enforcement of Health and Safety legislation.Duties:To develop, implement and review H&S policies and proceduresTo audit projects and building works to ensure complianceTo work with department managers to develop and review policy documents and develop Safe Operating ProceduresTo carry out H&S inspections and take any necessary enforcement actionConduct random spot inspections for PPE compliance and operating proceduresTo investigate accidents and near missesTo provide H&S training to employeesTo carry out fire risk assessments, fire drills and terrorism evacuation proceduresCriteria:A relevant Environmental Health related qualificationDemonstrable knowledge, experience and expertise in relation to relevant H&S legislation and best practise.Relevant experience in H&S Enforcement and Corporate H&S.Demonstrable technical and specialist knowledge.Skills:Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiativeExcellent written and oral communication skillsHigh level of attention to detail and accuracyAbility to adapt and proactively organise and prioritise work effectivelyThis is a 6-month temp role to start asap offering 37 hours per week.
