We are currently recruiting for a driven and motivated NQ Solicitor to join our successful and growing Construction and Engineering team.


Within this position, you will work on a broad spectrum of Construction and Engineering matters with regional, national and international clients. This role has a mixed non-contentious and contentious caseload. You will work on contract and security documentation relating to significant projects, provide project advisory services and assist with resolving a broad range of disputes by way of litigation, arbitration, adjudication and ADR process (including mediation)

Job responsibilities



  • Responsible for running own caseload and ensuring deadlines are met;
  • Assisting senior Partners on complex and high value matters;
  • Ensuring the retention of good clients through appropriate client management and service delivery;
  • Ensuring all new instructions are appropriately scoped and priced, with good financial management;
  • Ensuring clients receive accurate, up-to-date legal advice that takes account of their circumstances and represents "value for money”;
  • Undertake legal research both as requested and on own initiative;
  • Developing relationship with peer group across the firm; and
  • Supporting business development/marketing and attending conferences


Person Specification



  • Ideally, experience of construction and engineering matters and/or dispute resolution;
  • Be adaptable, enthusiastic, have a flexible approach and be able to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team;
  • Work with colleagues across the firm;
  • Ensure that the client is at the heart of all activities which generates valued service outcome in a timely and cost-effective manner;
  • Communicate in a timely and effective manner at all levels; and
  • Have strong commercial acumen and aspirations to grow and succeed with the firm.
