As Technical Coordinator you will initially be involved in detailed design of a 400+ unit residential scheme in Hertfordshire, this scheme consists of multiple blocks consisting of RC frame of up to 5 storeys.


About the role of Technical Coordinator

  • Deliver the product design function within the business, working with the product development teams, adopting the company philosophy and business ethos of: challenging standards, thinking outside the box, innovating design, valuing people and facilitating alternative solutions to achieve the best product design solutions.
  • Motivate and facilitate external consultants in delivering the design of a project holistically translating the scheme from inception through conception to completion into a cost effective and practical solution in line with the Company’s standards and reputation.
  • Use the technical systems procedures to manage the quality and financial aspects of all projects and assist in delivery of appropriate reports to the Technical Manager on a diarised basis.
  • Identify opportunities for improving buildability and adding value to the design product through creating an environment for successful design delivery.
  • Comment effectively on contractor’s design where designers package are adopted as part of a contract package.


Responsibilities of Technical Coordinator

  • Providing appropriate support on each project to the Technical Manager.
  • Contract management and design delivery through appointment and fee management.
  • Problem solving through provision of alternative design solutions.
  • Providing feedback to contractors and consultants on matters of design and specification.
  • Product and market research and development.
  • Contributing to the quality and financial management of the Company.


Requirements for the Technical Coordinator

  • Relevant professional qualification to either Degree, HNC/HND, NVQ Level 5.
  • Chartered Membership of a recognised Professional body e.g. RICS, CIOB, CIAT, RIBA etc.
  • A pro-active management style with capability to manage and coordinate the design team on challenging sites.
  • Effective people management of direct reports, giving feedback, direction, support, and coaching.
  • Skills including assertiveness, being decisive, flexible, good time management, organised, effective at chairing / participating in meetings, works well under pressure and to strict deadlines.
