Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Temporary Works Engineers to join their growing team of engineers and designers in a vibrant, multidisciplinary design practice based in London. As a member of the Temporary Works department, you will report to the Lead Temporary Works Engineer and play a key role in delivering and supporting a variety of challenging projects.


As a Temporary Works Engineer, you will:
  1. Manage projects to clients' requirements.
  2. Undertake and supervise Temporary works designs covering a range of elements below (full knowledge of all elements is not required): Mobile crane assessments, Retaining walls, Basements, Tower crane base (concrete and grillage), Hoist base, Façade retention, Propping, Temporary Thrust blocks, Piling platforms and Haul roads, Scaffolding checks, Loading assessments on structures, Excavation shafts/headings. Bonus to have experience undertaking AIPs, engineering surveys and writing structural reports.
  3. Review Structural Engineering analysis and design to both Eurocodes and British Standards.
  4. Willingness to assist fellow engineers and offer support and guidance.
  5. Management/mentoring of junior staff.

Key Requirements:
  1. Professional Experience: A minimum of 2 years (4 years for Senior) of experience in Temporary Works engineering.
  2. Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
  3. Technical Expertise: Good knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques, procedures, and structural principles; experience working with PAS 8811 is a bonus.

Communication and Teamwork:
  1. Friendly, approachable, and confident in client and team interactions. Capable of managing junior staff and fostering a collaborative environment.

Personal Attributes:
  1. Quality-driven, organized, and proactive with excellent problem-solving skills. Able to prioritize and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
