Overview:


The Cloud & Infrastructure Manager is entrusted with ownership of all aspects of cloud, infrastructure and backups within our customer environments from both a technical and service delivery perspective. You will lead a specialised team of Cloud & Infrastructure Engineers, Data Resilience Engineers, a Technical Architect and a Patch Engineer; ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget with a key focus on reducing implementation time without impacting the high quality our clients have come to expect. You will balance this technical implementation by ensuring existing holistic cloud & infrastructure is well maintained through tuned alerts with self-healing, regularly updated with vendor patches, secure in line with best practices and backed up in line with relative objectives. Driving a culture of collaboration and empowerment, along with a sense of ownership and proactivity amongst the team will be vital to your success and key to getting get the most from the brilliant people you manage.


Core Responsibilities:


• Manage the Cloud & Infrastructure Team.

• Ensure complete team ownership of all technical and service delivery of cloud & infrastructure related tasks.

• Drive a “you built it, you own it” mentality within the team ensuring the quality solutions we deliver are well documented and maintained throughout their lifecycle.

• Work closely with the Operations Director to understand the departmental strategy.

• Define your team’s 12-month strategy, ensuring it is validated with, and aligns to, other Operations Managers’ strategies, and underpins the departmental strategy.

• Collaborate closely with your managerial peers within the Operations Department ensuring tight working relations to achieve collective goals, in appreciation that we “Win Together”.

• Work closely with Project Managers to ensure resource is efficiently and accurately forecast and allocated.

• Ensure customer cloud, infrastructure and backups are onboarded effectively with thorough documentation and robust monitoring threshold and alerting set, along with update/patch schedules.

• Work in tandem with the Customer Delivery Manager, contributing to monthly service reports, transitioning new customers, and understanding customer roadmaps to define improvement opportunities.

• Sponsor knowledge transfer across the End User team fostering a “shift left” culture.

• Partake in the Duty Incident Manager rota, acting as the escalation point when there are Major Incidents.

• Any other duties reasonably required by your line manager.


Requirements


• Experienced in an MSP environment.

• Proficient in cloud & infrastructure technologies.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management role with direct supervision of a technical team.

• Excellent project management and resource forecasting skills.

• Proven ability to define, attain buy in, and collectively implement a strategic plan aligned to business operational needs delivering tangible value.

• Motivational leader instilling an accountable, collaborative, communicative and empowered culture.

• Competent in preparing and presenting reports and strategic plans to internal and external key stakeholders.

• Strong customer service orientation positioning the business as a value-add partner.

• A thorough planner with the forethought of contingency enabling us to respond to customer emergencies.
