The Buyer will be joining the procurement team to support the procurement of moulded plastic, PCB's, sensors and metalwork. Candidates will have previous procurement experience from a manufacturing background and be eager to develop themselves within their career.Role Responsibilities of the Buyer:Run the daily MRP to get the daily purchasing requirementPlace daily purchase orders to cover the MRP requirementsExpedite overdue purchase ordersProactively confirm purchase orders for the next week will be delivered as per the agreed scheduleSource suppliers for factored/manufactured itemsCreate requests for proposalsCreate purchasing tenders and analyse the dataWrite supply agreements and contractsCompile purchasing specificationsVisit suppliersLook for opportunities to reduce costs whenever possibleCreate a roadmap with savings targets and KPI's Experience required of the Buyer:Knowledge of purchasing within an engineering/manufacturing environment and an understanding of modern planning/purchasing techniquesA current clean full driving license.Understanding of MRPGood IT Skills i.e. Navision, Word and Excel Salary:Up to £38,000.This role will be well suited to you if you have previous experience within procurement or purchasing as a buyer, senior buyer, purchasing officer, purchasing manager, procurement manager, senior procurement officer, category manager or category officer
