Working closely with the Deputy Principal, class teacher, and wider team, you’ll help create a learning environment where every pupil feels supported, included, and empowered to succeed.This is a hands-on, rewarding role where you’ll build strong relationships, adapt learning to meet individual needs, and make a real difference in pupils’ confidence, progress, and wellbeing.What You’ll Be DoingIn the ClassroomWork under the guidance of the class teacher to plan and deliver tailored learning for individuals and small groupsSupport pupils with special needs to access learning, develop skills, and reach their targetsHelp create a positive, purposeful, and well-organised learning spacePromote inclusion and ensure every pupil has the chance to participate and succeedPrepare resources, set up learning areas, and assist with classroom organisationSupporting Pupils’ WellbeingBuild strong, supportive relationships and act as a positive role modelEncourage positive behaviour and support social and emotional developmentAssist pupils who are distressed, unsettled, or unwell, with care and sensitivityHelp deliver individual learning programmes and contribute to education plansSupport access to specialist provision as identified in a pupil’s needsWhat You’ll BringEssential:Good literacy and numeracy skillsExperience working with children or young peopleExperience supporting those with additional or special educational needsSome administrative or classroom support experienceTraining in relevant learning strategies or curriculum areas (or willingness to train)If you’re passionate about helping pupils feel understood, valued, and capable of achieving their best, this role offers the chance to have a meaningful, lasting impact every single day.About us Fieldstone School is an independent day school, supporting the most vulnerable young people in society aged 5-16; those children who do not find it easy to fit into existing educational provision.
