Job Description SummaryThis is an exciting role in a results focused environment. The Product Support Engineering Team is responsible for resolving engineering issues impacting the repair shop. As a Repairs Support Engineer you will be part of a Product Team expected to support and own a variety of tasks coordinate with different engineering teams across the business and drive the engineering solution to closure. You will be expected to support the workshop in a timely fashion to ensure daily and weekly output targets are achieved; you will play a key role in the success of our workshops execution and delivery to meet our customers requirements.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesRepair Method Planning: Publication and maintenance of documents defining methods techniques for repair and or modification of equipments.Spares Materials & Equipment Planning: The identification and capacity planning of materials and spares on the introduction of new equipment repairs modification and conversion programmes.Technical Assistance: Provide technical support to the repairs shop and other customer services departments world-wide. This includes: Fault diagnosis Technical guidance Circuit operation guidance Obsolescence investigation TE Technical information.Technical Liaison: Ability to Work closely with OEM engineering manufacturing quality suppliers sub contractors and customers when appropriateRequired QualificationsGood problem solving skillsPositive can-do approachAble to deal with people at all levelsFlexible work style ability to work under pressure & must be able to work on own initiativeExperience/knowledge of hardware and/or softwareElectrical/Electronic qualification (minimum HNC or equivalent)Planning and task managementGood communication skillsAutoCAD knowledge/experienceEducation to Degree level preferable or demonstrated experienceDesired CharacteristicsEASA Part 145 awarenessDemonstrated experience in a similar Manufacturing/Repair support roleAppreciation/knowledge of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE)At GE Aerospace we understand the importance of Total Reward.
