Research Associate in Materials ElectrochemistryAbout The RoleThe project entitled "Trigate" is about optimisation of electrochemical electrode processes involving gases (oxygen reduction, nitrogen reduction, carbon dioxide reduction) in a biomimetic way employing microporous materials. The research assistant role will involve:driving experimental research activities in electrocatalytic processes with electrode design, product analysis, and mechanistic studiesliaising with collaborators (in academia and in industry) and reporting to specialist and non-specialist audiences (conferences, outreach)writing professional reports and publications including data analysis and preparation of graphical materialscontributing to guiding project students and/or minor teaching challengesAbout YouThe research associate role will require:a PhD (or equivalent) in materials chemistry, electrochemistry or closely allied field (some electrochemistry knowledge is essential)evidence for ability to perform independent research (planning and executing experiments, data analysis, data interpretation)evidence for ability to write professional publicationsevidence for ability to communicate and present research to specialist and non-specialist audiencesFurther informationAs a member of Research Staff at the University of Bath, you will be encouraged to take up a minimum of 10 days professional development pro rata per year.For an informal discussion relating to this vacancy, please contact Frank Marken, fm202@bath.ac.ukThis is a full time (36.5) position offered on a fixed term basis from April 2026 for 2 years.Interviews will be held on either the 11th, 18th or 25th February (date to be finalised)We consider ourselves to be a university where difference is celebrated, respected and encouraged.
