You’ll be working on a large-scale Generative AI platform that’s reshaping how a major global finance services business builds, deploys, and adopts AI across the business.Expect hands-on engineering, real problem solving, and plenty of collaboration as you help architect, automate, and operationalise LLM-driven services at scale.What You’ll Be Doing:Building backend services and APIs that give secure, governed access to LLM capabilitiesDeveloping Python-based GenAI components, including prompt orchestration and evaluation toolingIntegrating LLMs with enterprise systems, observability layers, and security frameworksDesigning and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOpsWorking closely with platform leads, architects, and SRE teams to ensure stable, scalable operationsSupporting benchmarking, evaluation, and experiment tracking to measure LLM performance and costContributing to RAG implementations and vector-driven retrieval patternsHelping shape platform patterns, reusable components, and clear documentationTroubleshooting performance issues across distributed systems and cloud servicesWhat You’ll Bring:5+ years of backend engineering experience, with strong Python at the coreHands-on exposure to GenAI technologies and Large Language ModelsPractical understanding of LLM evaluation, prompt handling, and operational complexitiesA DevOps-first approach with experience in CI/CD, observability, and automation (Azure DevOps preferred)Confidence working in regulated enterprise environments with tight security controlsExperience integrating AI or ML services into real-world applicationsKnowledge of authentication, secret management, networking, and model access governanceBonus Points For:Kong API Gateway, Kong Mesh, Flux CDAWS stack: EC2, EKS, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, BedrockRESTful API development with FastAPI, microservices, Terraform, GitOps workflowsPrompt evaluation tools such as PromptfooSQL and NoSQL experience: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, CassandraExposure to RAG patterns and vector search technologiesWhat Success Looks Like:Secure, reusable GenAI components running smoothly in productionFaster engineering delivery through automation and DevOps maturityHigh observability and strong evaluation built in from day onePlatform teams and application teams genuinely enjoying what you buildClean documentation and an onboarding flow that makes adoption effortlessRole Details:Rate: £400–£450 per day Inside IR35, or permanent £60k–£70k salaryIf you’re keen to help shape one of the most exciting GenAI platforms in the enterprise world, drop me a message and we can get things moving.
