Trainee Furniture Repair & Upholstery TechnicianLondon & Surrounding RegionsRealistic earnings £40,000+ in your first year once fully trainedAre you good with your hands and enjoy fixing things?Had a taste of upholstery, furniture repair, car trimming, carpentry, surface repair or any kind of manual restoration work – and want to turn it into a well-paid career?This is a rare chance to join a market-leading national furniture restoration company as a Trainee Furniture Repair & Upholstery Technician on a full-time, fully employed basis, with a 12-week paid training programme and excellent long-term prospects.The Opportunity:You will be taken through a structured 12-week, fully paid training programme where you will learn:Upholstery repairs and re-coveringLeather repair and restorationStitching and seam repairsRecliner and electronic mechanism fault-finding and repairCabinet and wood polishingScratch and surface repairs on a wide range of furnitureTraining starts in the company’s state-of-the-art training centre, where you will learn and practise on real furniture in a controlled environment.You will then continue your development out in the field, working alongside experienced Furniture Technician experts in customers’ homes.All of this is done on full-time pay from day one.Furniture Technician Earnings & Package:Competitive basic salary with clear progressionRealistic earnings of £40,000+ in your first full year once fully trained, including bonuses and overtimeCompany vehicle for work useAll tools, specialist equipment, tablet, mobile phone and fuel card provided28 days+ annual holiday entitlement (including bank holidays)Ongoing training and development, with regular salary reviewsSupport of a national, growing organisation with strong job securityThis is not a short-term course – it is a long-term, secure career path with excellent earning potential.What You Will Be Doing (Once Trained)Visiting customers in their homes to inspect and repair furnitureCarrying out upholstery, leather, frame, mechanism and surface repairs to a high standardUsing your technical and practical skills to diagnose issues and fix them on the spot where possibleProviding a professional, friendly service and explaining work to customers clearlyManaging your own day once you are fully competent, with support always available from the technical teamWho We Are Looking For:You do not need to be a fully qualified upholsterer already.We are looking for people who:Have some hands-on experience in upholstery, furniture, automotive trim, joinery, carpentry, surface repair, bathroom/kitchen fitting or similar practical tradesAre technically minded and enjoy problem solvingHave strong practical skills and good hand-eye coordinationShow excellent attention to detail – you care about the finish and quality of your workAre great with people – friendly, polite and able to put customers at ease in their homesAre ambitious, have the right attitude and want to build a long-term, well-paid careerAre flexible to travel across London and the surrounding regions as part of the roleHold a full UK driving licenceIf you bring the attitude, ambition and basic practical ability, they will provide the training, tools and ongoing support.Why the furniture Industry?The furniture and upholstery restoration industry is growing fast.More and more people and companies are choosing to repair and restore, rather than replace.
